봄철 딸기와 체리와 천사의 키스

 My summer wine is really made from all these things

나의 여름 와인은 정녕 이 모두로부터 만들어집니다

I walked in town on silver spurs that jingled to

난 은빛 박차를 짤랑거리고 마을에 들어섰지

and sang a song that I had sang just for a few

겨우 몇 사람에게만 들려주었던 노래를 부르며

 She saw my silver spurs and said let's pass some time

그녀는 내 은빛 박차를 보고 좀 머물다 가라고 했어

 The silver spurs were gone, my head felt twice its size

내 은빛 박차는 어디로 가버리고,골은 때렸지

 She took my silver spurs, a dollar and a dime

그녀는 은빛 박차와 1달라 10쎈트를 갖고 사라진 대신

 And left us craving for.....more summer wine

그리스의 감성 Haris Alexiou(해리스 알렉슈)는
단지 한 명의 그리스 가수가 아니다
그녀의 매력은 무엇보다 그녀의 남다른 목소리 
깊고 약간 목이 쉰 듯한, 
그리스 비잔틴풍의 노래 스타일로 노래를 부른다.
과거와 현재, 동양과 서양의 공생이, 
그녀가 다른 문화를 노래하고 이들을 
이음매 없이 결합하는 이유이다
그녀는 오십 대 초반의 나이임에도 
이십여 년의 인상적 경력을 회고할 수 있으며 
그 기간에 그녀는 전통적이고 대중적인 
포크 음악(디모티카)과 오리엔트 도시음악을 
결합한 전통 그리스 스타일의 렘베티카에서 
무겁고 기교 있는 음악을 추구하였다 
Mikis Theodorakis (Phaedra 작곡자에 대하여) 그리스의 상징적 반체제 작곡가 "테오토라키스"는 1925년 7월 29일 지금은 터키 땅이 된 소아시아의 키오스 섬에서 태어났고 "테오도라키스"의 음악 중 우리에게 가장 잘 알려진 것은
"멜리나 메르쿠리"가 주연한 영화 Phaedra(죽어도 좋아)와
Never on Sunday(일요일은 참으세요), 1960년대 "안소니 퀸"이 주연한
Zorba the Greek(희랍인 조르바)1964의 영화음악으로 소개된다.

제국주의와 억압에 함께 항거했던 친구의 죽음을 슬퍼하며 작곡한
To treno fevgi stis okto(기차는 8시에 떠나네)는
그의 작품의 단편에 지나지 않으며 1,000여 곡이 넘는 민중가곡 외에도
교향곡 7곡, 2곡의 발레 곡 2곡의 대작 오라토리오 4개의 오페라 등
정통 클래식 작곡가로도 많은 작품을 남겼다.

 Phaedra (훼드라) 영화: 죽어도 좋아

그리스의 신화나 전설적 문학작품을 통해서 풍부하게 표현됐고,
그리스 신화에 나오는 수많은 사랑의 이야기 중에서도 제일 뜨겁게
활활 타오르는 사랑을 한 이는 바로 "훼드라" 일 것이다.
금단(禁斷)의 사랑을 하려고 했으니 말이다.

크레타의 미노스의 딸인 페드라는 아테네의 왕 테세우스의 후처였으나
전처의 아들 히폴리투스에게 연정을 품는다. 그러나 히폴리투스는
페드라의 사랑 고백에 대해서 너무나도 역겹다는 반응을 나타내었고
거절당한 페드라는 결국은 자신의 이름을 더럽히고 자식들의 장래를
망쳐놓은 것이 두려워서 목매어 자살한다.
그녀가 남긴 유서에는 히폴리투스가 자기를 범했다고 비난하는 내용이
담겨 있었다. 그러나 사실을 발설하지 않겠다는 페드라와의 맹세를
지키기 위해 히폴리투스는 진실을 밝히지 않고 숨긴다.

분노한 테세우스는 히폴리투스를 추방하고, 포세이돈이 그에게 준
세 가지 저주 가운데 하나를 그에게 내린다.
히폴리투스가 멀리 못 간 히폴리투스의 말들을 사납게 날뛰게 하여
마차를 부숴놓고 히폴리투스를 끌고 다니게 하여 죽게 한다.

이 얼마나 무서운 사랑의 저주인가
고대 시인들은 페드라를 소홀히 했던 히폴리투스에 대한 사랑의 여신
노여움으로 설정, 아프로디테의 희생물이 바로 페드라라는 것이다.

[monologue]

I'm imaging a lot of happy people
And most of you are with someone you love
Well, you are the lucky ones.
All over the world there are lots of people who are alone tonignt
I imagine most of us have been that situation in sometime or another
I know I have.
Recently I heard most beautiful song with the that lamentedly.
but really expresses this feeling of loneliness.
It means a lot to me personally.
I'd like to share it with you.
I think you'll see what I mean.
